TPB Featuring The Question

Since there are no The Question trades, what trades have Q? in them?

I can only think of a few off hand:

Batman/Huntress: Cry for Blood(As The Question)
Watchmen(As Rorschach)
Kingdom Come(Background Cameos along with Rorscach)
Dark Knight Strikes Again

Kingdom Come(Background Cameos along with Rorscach)

You know, I tried and tried and just couldn't find this cameos. Where are they?

Re: TPB Featuring The Question

By the way, if The Question series is reprinted someday, should it be reprinted under the Vertigo imprint? I think so. In fact, I think the only reason why the O'Neil series wasn't in Vertigo was because Vertigo didn't exist by then...

I don't have it in front of me now, but he's on one of the screens with the other KC versions of the Charlton Action Heroes when Superman's watching news about the Kansas disaster in the Fortress.

Also, he's in the background when Superman gives his speech in the bar, standing beside Rorschach, Sherlock Holmes and the Shadow, if I remember correctly.

Re: TPB Featuring The Question

That's correct.

The Question and Rorschach appear twice in the bar scene, Rorschach is breaking the hand of a man sitting at a table in the fashion of Watchmen.

Kingdom Come is full of great cameos, if people are interested I'd start a thread about it.

Re: TPB Featuring The Question

It shouldn't be too hard to find, now that you know where to look.

If you want I'll scan in the pages, and highlight the area where they appear.

Re: TPB Featuring The Question

I agree with Gabo on this one, The Question should DEFINATELY be a Vertigo title.  I think the series was years ahead of the field.  Sure it was a kick ass kung fu book but it was also one of the best written, most thought provoking books of it's time.  Even today I still think it stands up well against the more mature market.

Bring on the TPB's!!

Re: TPB Featuring The Question

Cheers "?"

I found out about this place from a friend on the LegionWorld site (Hi Cramer!).

The first time I saw the Question was in issue 5 of the Blue Beetle, he was just another masked man in that and while I thought he was okay I wasn't overly impressed.

Then I picked up the first issue of the O'Neil run (Mostly for that AMAZING cover) and the rest, as they say, is history.

I've never read any of the earlier, Ditko, stuff.  Does anybody know if it's available as reprints or TPB.  What with the Questions high profile in 52 interest should be mounting.

That has been a much discussed topic around here lately. Currently there are no official plans that anyone here is aware of (unless someones holding back!).

Re: TPB Featuring The Question

I think DC should "test the waters" with a collection of the first 5 issues of the O'neil, Cowan series.  Especially now with Q's popularity boost from JLU and 52.

If it sells, then start cranking out the rest of the run!  (after all, it was listed as essencial reading in his origin pages in 52)

Re: TPB Featuring The Question

Actually, that may be what Helltown is trying to accomplish. If that sells well then a TPB has a higher chance...

Re: TPB Featuring The Question

I'd love a tpb of those first five issues, best part of the series as far as I'm concerned.

The world spins mad. The people are so intoxicated by luxury they forget everything that makes us more than house pets. Reason. Truth. Justice. Freedom. The human spirit is a shattered pane of glass – wrapped in soft velvet and soaked in sugary poison.

Re: TPB Featuring The Question

I seem to remember that about 15 years ago(boy time flys by) DC solicited a trade for the first 5 issues under the title THUNDER OVER THE ABYSS.  I don't know if this book ever came out.

Re: TPB Featuring The Question

It did not, but there's what I've been told was to be the recolored panel that would serve as it's cover in the promo section of the site.
