Great News from the lips of Bob Wayne

Hey guys

I was at the Bristol comic convention in England this weekedn and at the DCU panel I asked Bob Wayne (Vice president of DC Comics) if we could expect a trade of O'Neills Question run.

His answer

"Yes you can because we are collecting it"

He then said not to tell anyone because they hadn't announced it yet......yea like that was gonna happen.

No dates yet...but its on its way people

Re: Great News from the lips of Bob Wayne

Got this off newsarama:

THE QUESTION VOL. 1 TP
Writer: Dennis O'Neil
Artists: Denys Cowan & Rick Magyar
Collects: THE QUESTION #1-6
$19.99 U.S., 176 pages

I got a bad feeling here.  $19.99 seems alot for a book that only reprints 6 issues.  Most DC trades that reprint 6 issues usually run at $12.99.  This could hurt sales and cut the possiblilty of further trades.

Yes, but take into account that The Question's issues had 28 pages instead of 22 like comics today. Still, it's expensive.

Re: Great News from the lips of Bob Wayne

I don't see how this can be bad news. Anyone who read 52 is going to have his interest piqued by "Charlie," and I have a feeling the buzz around and reviews of this collection will contribute to sales. This is a good place to start, I think. It's been on DC's shelves for over 10 years. 'Bout time.

When I saw this comic, I had to come back here and check the price of the trade. I guess it is a little steep.

Re: Great News from the lips of Bob Wayne

Brilliant!

Is there any possibility that they change the price? Anyway, why are they announcing the trades with so much anticipation? They have already announced December's books!

Re: Great News from the lips of Bob Wayne

"Zen and violence" is a good title for the book, although "Thunder over the abyss" was particularly beautiful.

Re: Great News from the lips of Bob Wayne

"Thunder Over The Abyss" was a really good call, and I'm sad they're abandoning it.

"Zen And Violence" is good, but it's in a different direction. That sounds almost more black-humor to me.

Re: Great News from the lips of Bob Wayne

Question for you guys...

for awhile I was pondering titling Episode 6 of Question Sanity "Thunder over the Abyss" as an homage to the lost graphic novel (and, like Mr. A's titles, it would be credited).  My original title for the episode, "the things children say these days" doesn't really fit anymore since the series turned a little darker than planned for eps 5 and 6.

Now with the fairly recent announcement of the upcoming trade and even though it is going by "Zen and Violence", the Thunder title has come back into conversation.

since episode 6 is next week...does it just seem cheezy for me to use the title at the point?

Re: Great News from the lips of Bob Wayne

Honestly, the title seems pretty epic to me. If you think it fits Episode 6 better now, go for it, but if not, I'd save it for maybe the last episode or at least the climax of the story.

Re: Great News from the lips of Bob Wayne

Maybe not the last but perhaps a episode that contains a big plot revelation (which episode 6 may very well contain).
