Hub City

I don't know if this has ever been discussed, but back in the Denny O'Neil days there were a number of letters in the back each issue drilling him on what city "Hub City" represented.  It was a pretty nasty place, really.

Has anyone ever announced what city it is?  Or has anyone figured it out?

Re: Hub City

I'd say Chicago, St Lois, Detroit, and Boston.  Or a mix of all those.  Though I'm pretty sure it's more Chicago.  Of course, I'm personally biased toward Boston as that's the area I'm from and while things have improved, there's still  a good bit of Hub City corruption in Beantown.

Re: Hub City

East St. Louis Illinois was definitely one of the two inspirations.

Re: Hub City

East St. Louis was a big one, and I always figured either Chicago and/or Detroit filled in for the rest. Really, though, there's so many towns like that in modern America it may be a moot point as to which one Hub represents.

Re: Hub City

I always assumed it was Chicago as well.  It's history of deeply ingrained corruption seemed the perfect mirror for Hub City.

Re: Hub City

Everything I've read pointed to East St. Louis...I kinda assumed Detroit was mixed in too alittle.

The same could be said of Louisiana and New Orleans.

Re: Hub City

I don't think it's Boston.  I live there now, and I've got to say that it resembles Detroit much more than Boston.  I've always thought Detroit/East St. Louis.
