Re: Who is the Question? - Sequential Group Art Project

I think we should offer it for download in both .PDF, .CBR and as individual JPeGs. Who's going to do the lettering? I've got a bunch of comic book fonts....

And no selling anything! In the words of Groundskeeper Willie, "D'ya want us to get seuuued?"

I colored mine in Paint Shop Pro. Drew it by hand in two pieces (the scene, and the television Vic). Straightened up the lines in PSP because I'm too lazy to use a ruler. It may be the best thing I've ever drawn....

EDIT: Here are my raw sketches -

Thanks for the ideas, you guys!

Re: Who is the Question? - Sequential Group Art Project

What's a .CBR? 'sides that I completely follow everything you said.

I'd be happy to do lettering....but I think you might be hinting at something, so if you want to, why not? You're getting all the pictures sent to you, anyway.

I will however say this: I'd be interested in designing a logo for the cover (hell there could even make a fake comic company logo....or maybe not, Groundskeeper Willie).

Re: Who is the Question? - Sequential Group Art Project

CBR's a rar file renamed for working with the program CDisplay, which is a program designed to read online comics.

I'd be happy to do lettering....but I think you might be hinting at something, so if you want to, why not? You're getting all the pictures sent to you, anyway.

I'm just saying that I have some of the Comicraft fonts available to me that I got from the university that others might not have. If someone else has something different or better in mind, by all means....

I will however say this: I'd be interested in designing a logo for the cover (hell there could even make a fake comic company logo....or maybe not, Groundskeeper Willie).

Well, we should probably put a disclaimer in somewhere, but a fake logo would be fine by me.

Now get cracking!

Re: Who is the Question? - Sequential Group Art Project

Ok...I've pondered and waited long enough...I'm going to claim a line.

I'm going to take a shot at "To those who partner with me," since I seem to know what i want to see for that one

If I don't like how things proceed, I'll give it up and let someone else take a crack at it.

Re: Who is the Question? - Sequential Group Art Project

VISAGE INK 8)

Eric- suggestion...how about all entries to this project also count towards the fan art contest ?(execpt yours...aside from you winning because of your talent, you're the Judge and all that lol )   You could also display the pieces in their original unlettered format on the fan art page, unless you feel that is too much duplication.

Also, can I use one of my previous fan art contest submissions towards this project?  I think the White one would work in a few places...

-Each page could be just one picture instead of multiple panels, allowing each person to focus on giving it there all and producing some classy art.
-Each page could be done using anything (except for old Question art) . Action Figures, Pen and Pencil, Digital coloring (or digital everything).

I'm glad that you decided to contribute HawkK, but unfortunately we can't use that particular image since it uses existing artwork.  Pick a line from the "CLAIMED" post on the first page of this thread and show us some of your original work to go with it.

We all look foward to seeing what you come up with!  Also please be sure that what you create is 1024 pixels tall by 768 wide so it is consistant with other submissions.

I can't draw either, so I know where you are coming from.

You are good with creating the wallpapers using your computer's software, why not try using some of your programs to manipulate photographs to be the Question and making a scene?

Re: Who is the Question? - Sequential Group Art Project

Ok. Sidetracked again. But with exams over and vacation here I'm going to be working on this.

Also I've been doing a lot of large paintings in school and am thinking about making one of them a page for the book. Of course I don't know how I'd scan the painting....

I remember Jim Lee once stating when he was working on Hush and was in NY, he found some place that was closing at midnight to stay open for him to get the pages scanned...I think it was a kinkos, but it's been a long time since I read the interview.   So there has to be somewhere in NYC that can scan larger items.

Are you comparing me to Jim Lee? I mean sure I'm working a little slow....but not All Star Batman slow!  lol

Anywho, I think I'll go look around.*

(*I'll ask all the employees at every Kinkos I find "Is this the place Jim Lee used to scan in pages for Hush?")
