Re: Question Custom Figures

the annual was kinda the inspiration, but the image was creatated using microsoft's digital editor art program.  Q is a photo of one of my custom figures then I created the layout seen above.

You know Flash, I was thinking a similar approach can be done using a few shots of you in your Q costume (the blurry standing one and the one of you throwing a punch in the garage specifically) to be used for the sequential art project.  Do you have higher rez or larger versions of those two shots? (and maybe a close up of your gloved fist?)

I just almost doubled the size of the Q? custom figures page with new pictures from Cason Pilliod (Casimir) and our own j3h!

Re: Question Custom Figures

Thanks Eric!  8)

minor observation...a few of my shots don't have any "figure by " credit text, I'm not sure if it was intentional since I have several views of the same figure offered.  Also, later on I would like for the shots to have a link to the start of Question Sanity once it has a direct home url on this site. (obviously that can't be done yet)

Thanks again!

Re: Question Custom Figures

I'll fix that up straight away. It probably has something to do with the way the gallery works and my own laziness -- I can just upload a picture and a thumbnail and they show up in the gallery, but I sometimes forget to edit the index file to put the captions in.

Anyone looking at this site and the amount of work you put into it could in no way, shape or form ever call you "Lazy".   wink

Re: Question Custom Figures

Heeeey, you're very welcome! And, might I add, welcome to the boards!

And while you're here, I had a question. Any special reason you went with his JLU outfit? Not like I have a problem (it's one of the better costumes he's been drawn with), but I was just curious as to why you went with it.

Well, I was really just wanting a Question in a trenchcoat.... maybe it's just because I recently re-read "The Watchmen" and had Rorschach on my mind. Not sure. Really, though, Jeffrey Combs just nailed the performance on JLU and that sold me.

When I was pulling reference, though, I stumbled across the Kyle Baker art:

http://www.adherents.com/lit/comics/img/Question.jpg

But, as huge of a fan as I am of Baker, I thought it'd make a semi-boring toy (well, the white shirt, that is).

But then I stumbled across a pic of him wearing the yellow shirt...  not this one, but same outfit:
http://www.vicsage.com/dc/cowanmugshot.jpg

Anyway, I just felt the splash of color would work, and I prefered this combo over the red shirt/yellow tie combo for a 'modern' look. Plus, the black was easier to paint than the yellow. wink

Re: Question Custom Figures

Heh, I can't blame you there. I like the blue/yellow look too, it's not quite as gaudy as the Ditko outfit but it's still kind of superhero-y.

Indeed, they came through. I just need to watermark and upload them. Thanks a bunch! I haven't had a spare moment because one of my best friends just had a baby, and I've been rushing around trying to help out!

Re: Question Custom Figures

I wish it really had a real tag that came with the figure that said, "Nipples!"

Re: Question Custom Figures

apparently people like signs that say "nipples!" since the figure got over 1100 hits in less than 24 hours.
Eric, since I put the link over to QS at the write-up's end, did any sort of surge in traffic happen for the day?

Re: Question Custom Figures

The other day Magnus frowned upon me so much that he declared me a fake canned meat distributor and banned my sorry @ss.

And that was just for posting pictures of zombies!

I figured after that, I better not post the uncensored pictures here. tongue
